Living in Mazarrón
Mazarrón has a long mining history, and the reddish hills around the town still show it. On the coast, Puerto de Mazarrón has a fishing harbour, a marina and a string of beaches, and at Bolnuevo the wind has carved the soft sandstone into unusual shapes.
The bay is sheltered by the hills, and the coast to the west has quiet coves. Many buyers look here for a villa on the slopes with a view of the sea, or for an apartment within walking distance of the beach. Cartagena is about half an hour away by motorway.
